| Approach Businesses Now for Holiday Sales Ask just about any successful Gifted Pro, “When is the best time to approach small businesses for B2B sales?” They will tell you unequivocally, “Now!” Courting businesses any time of year can bring you success. However, the fall season is when businesses are really thinking about gifts. Why? The holidays are coming up. Even if businesses give no other rewards or incentives throughout the year, many will give holiday gifts to employees and customers. Now is the time when they are ready to buy … and maybe even agree to buy more gifts and incentives for the upcoming year. To get ready, you’ll want to make sure that you have your Ribbon Expansion Sales Kit (40-0854). It contains multiples of the items you’ll need to reach out and impressively present the program to businesses. And if you haven’t yet purchased your updated Essential Sales Kit (AD-1600), you can buy both kits together as the Duo Sales Kit (40-0858) and save $15! Read this issue of the Ribbon Retailer for information and tips on interacting with prospective business customers during that all-important first face-to-face meeting. You’ll also learn a little about contracts and how to keep the business customers you already have. Why wait? Now is the time to get your B2B business rolling! Looking ahead as always, The Ribbon Team PS. We’re making a simple but BIG change to the Ribbon Program based on your feedback. Be sure to catch the article on the Ribbon launch date change! | | | |

| Did you know …? Over the last month, Shine A Light, a program offered by American Express in partnership with NBC Universal, has been inviting U.S. residents to “shine a light” on small businesses through a special iVillage website. Thousands of individuals have participated by nominating and endorsing small businesses they find inspiring. Just about any and every kind of small business was eligible. The 150 top nominated and endorsed businesses have already been reviewed by celebrity judges, and the competition has currently been narrowed to three businesses. The winner of the three will be selected by online votes and will receive $100,000 in grant and marketing support. Visit Shine A Light to read all the inspiring stories and to see if a business near you has been nominated. You can also vote for your favorite small-business finalist through October 16.
