Quixtar - All Current Articles: "Sales Tax Adjustment Form Reminder
Important tax details.

Throughout the year, many of you will be filing a Sales Tax Adjustment form to obtain a refund of overpaid sales tax or remit additional sales tax to Amway Global which will be forwarded to a taxing jurisdiction. The Sales Tax Dept. reviews all of the forms received and has compiled the list below of frequent errors that cause a delay in processing. Before sending your Sales Tax Adjustment form to us, please review your form for these common errors.

REFUND OF OVERPAID SALES TAX:
Statute of Limitations: A refund of overpaid sales tax must be requested or payment of sales tax must be made to Amway Global within a specified period of time from the date of the invoice, also known as the statute of limitations. Most states have a 36-48 month statute of limitations. A chart identifying the statute of limitations on a state-by-state basis can be found on the website in the 'Tax and Your Independent Business' booklet.

The Form Must Be Complete: All information on the Sales Tax Adjustment form should be properly completed and free of math errors.

Invoice Listing: In January, 2005 the Sales Tax Dept. began to require an invoice listing be attached to the Sales Tax Adjustment form. Please review for the following:
